The Accessible Banking User Journey of 2025

The European Accessibility Act (EAA) is a directive of the EU that aims to facilitate access to products and services for people with disabilities. It comes into effect in June 2025 and prescribes that, among other things, digital banking services must adhere to international accessibility criteria.

It should be noted that this white paper is not a comprehensive list. The barriers described in this document have been selected because they are very common and at the same time highly relevant in the accessibility context (according to our practical experience with accessibility audits and the respective WCAG level). This white paper aims to illustrate valuable measures to improve accessibility.
