Would you like to get a taste of Adnovum? Give it a try right now! Our Chef de Cuisine, Lenny, has prepared a recipe for Alpine Macaroni. This particularly hearty meal is sure to fuel you up for the adventures that await you in the Adnovum Mountain Range! The recipe serves 4 people.

Alpine Macaroni

Ingredients

  • 200 grams of bacon slices (or tofu)
  • 2 onions
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 600 milliliters of vegetable or chicken broth
  • 300 grams of waxy potatoes
  • 300 grams of elbow macaroni 
  • 250 milliliters of cream
  • 120 grams of grated Gruyère cheese
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Nutmeg 

Preparation

  • Slice the bacon into small slices
  • Chop the onions and garlic into small cubes
  • Dice the potatoes into 1cm cubes
  • Sauté the bacon and keep it warm
  • Add bacon to a pot and sweat the onion and garlic
  • Fill with the broth and bring to a boil
  • Cook the potato cubes in the broth until soft
  • Separately cook the pasta «al dente» in 3 liters of salted water
  • Drain and add the pasta to the potatoes without cooking water
  • Add the cream and season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg
  • Top off the dish with the grated cheese and serve with the bacon

Serving suggestion and ideas

  • Serve each portion with 200 grams of applesauce 
  • Serve with caramelized apples instead of applesauce
  • Put leftovers from the previous day in a gratin dish and top with grated stale bread and cheese to bake.
